The Best Job In The World

ledelstein2

Please, quickly skip over the obligatory ‘wife’ and ‘mother”. Been there, done that, and I have the coffee cup, although mine says Over the Hill instead of Awesome Mom. Before I tell you what I am convinced is the best job, take a moment and decide what you think.

I’m stalling now, drawing out the tension………. Of course, I googled this essential question and some sites say CEO (really, what is that?) or nurse practitioner (eh). Less conventional is Lego sculptor or island caretaker. Closer.

Here it is. The best job would be to name nail polish. My favorite color lately is Angel Food (I used to eat entire angel food cakes in one sitting, so that is a sentimental favorite). But other names are even better. Here are a few of my faves from Opi and Essie: Gelato on my Mind, Bare with Me, Polly Want a Lacquer, Ballet Slippers, Teal the Cows come Home, Amuse Me, and Caught in the Rain.

If I may be so bold… I’m auditioning for the job. Consider my suggestions for future shades of polish:

Compost (a dark shade of green)

Anxious Morning (a bright red/orange)

Cataract Candy (light gray)

Nursing Home (colorless)

It Hit The Fan (taupe)

Hot Shower (silver with glitter)

I know that ideas are developing in your head. Tell me. And Opi, I’m available for consultation.

I've never been able to take care of a manicure well enough to want to spend the price of a professional one, but I've come to like a pedicure for when it is sandal season. But, since a few wedding party mani/pedi outings (even the old timers included!), I've overcome my ticklish feet aversion to the process. (Plus reaching my toes and seeing them for fine work has gotten harder...) so I'll propose some toe-specific nail polish names

Eggplant (glossy purple) For when you have dropped a jar of mayonnaise on your big toe--and it takes a year to look normal again.

Punter Pink (bright rose for football fans)

Twinkle (dusty rose with glitter)

Why not celebrate with subtle glamour…
